Programming Experience

General Information

There is so much to know in the field of Computer Science. I love learning new technologies and figuring out how they work.

As a software developer I have about 2 years of experience using C# and the .Net framework. I also had to read and fix some code that was written in Visual Basic 6.

As a student I have 3-4 years of experience using C and C++. Recently I have begun using Matlab to do research in the field of Computer Vision. I also have used C# for a few courses. Throughout my studies I have also been exposed to a variety of other computer languages.

As a hobbyist I have about 3 years of experience using C# and the .Net framework. I have also dealt with different projects that were written in PHP and Visual Basic.

I generally use and program in a Fedora Linux environment, except when I want to use C# in which case I boot up my Windows 7 machine.

Projects that I am currently working on:

Android Applications

I am currently toying around with the Android mobile framework developing some applications. This is my first exposure to Mobile programming, and I find it very interesting. I am currently working on a Dots game, and a program to store data that you wish to have easy access to sometimes.

Online Retail Shops

I have recently begun work on a group of retail websites that sell different types of themed decor. Currently I have 3 different online shops. I used the popular CMS Joomla to back my pages. I have also written programs in C# to automate some tasks, such as automatically updating the inventory daily on all of my websites.

Some projects I have previously worked on:

RFID Localization using Phase Difference

I worked under Prof. Xiuwen Liu to come up with a novel way to use phase difference to localize where an RFID tag was positioned. We did a pilot study and built a test framework using Python, C++, and Matlab. A paper is currently under review for publication.

Computer Vision Research

I previously worked under Prof. Xiuwen Liu to do various types of image processing on cell images. We weer working with the biology department to build vision applications that can monitor the inner workings of cells while they split. We were using Matlab to build our project.

MapIt (2008)

This was a program for police officers to use with the TraCS Florida software suite. The program would communicate with a GPS device and locate where a crash or citation occurred.

External Search (2007)

This was an addon to the TraCS Florida software suite which allowed an officer to import data from programs that did drivers license or registration searches. Using this tool, an officer could swipe a drivers license through a card reader, then simply import all of the information about the person onto the citation/crash form.

Realtime North America (2005)

This page was built while I was in high school to get some of my volunteer hours taken care of. The company sells very cool bio recognition hardware and software for SAP users.
